Burrow

Ethel Mae (Schulze) Burrow, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2018 in St. George, Utah. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Porter Township, Wisconsin to Robert and Viola Schulze.

She enjoyed dancing at a local dance hall, Waverly Beach, in Beloit where she met Ronald Burrow. They married on March 8, 1947 in Orfordville, Wisconsin.

Ethel was a great cook and kept her home and lawn immaculate. If she saw a leaf falling off a tree, she would be there to grab it before it hit the ground. She did a lot of farm work, but refused to milk the cows. Every Monday morning she washed clothes in the backroom with a wringer washer unless Spotty (their dog) hid behind the stove predicting a thunderstorm would be in the area.

She loved watching the Packers and going to her grandsons' sporting events. Many times she mentioned she could write a book about her grandsons; the perfect one and the instigator. She also enjoyed camping, fishing with family in nearby Wisconsin lakes, pushing those casino buttons, playing cards, completing jigsaw puzzles and working crossword puzzles. She loved to find the jets streaming in the sky. So when you see a jet, smile and think of the good times with her.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Lynda (Leonard) Badertscher of Cedar City, Utah, her grandsons, Bradley (Julie) of Wauwatosa, WI and Timothy (Tran) of San Diego, CA, her brother Albert (Shirley) Schulze and sister Bonnie Robotka of Beloit along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Clarence and Richard Schulze, sisters Helen Burrow and Mildred Ringen.

The family wishes to thank the following for their compassionate care: Ashlee Carlisle of Bee Hive Home, Iron County Home Health, Ethan Bunker of Sun Tree Hospice and Bernadette McClafferty. All of you are true angels! The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dementia Foundation.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, 3008 S. Coon Island Road, Orfordville, Wisconsin with burial to follow at the Plymouth Cemetery at 5300-5386 County Highway H in Orfordville, Wisconsin. A viewing will be held prior to the services from noon until 1:00 pm at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Southern Utah Mortuary.
