Lillian H. Lanning has been reunited with her husband Kenneth B. Lanning in the presence of our Lord on January 29, 2018.
She was born October 9, 1932 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bamert. Lil married Kenneth on May 1, 1954. He preceded her in death August 7, 1998.
Lil enjoyed socializing with family and friends, watching all sports, playing golf and bowling, as well as knitting, doing puzzles and playing cards with her Hillcrest friends and various card clubs. Lil devoted most of her life to working, helping others and raising a family. Many knew her at Kohl's Grocery, JCPenney, Tex's Grocery, Ace Hardware and First National Bank, where she loved working with the public. She started in 1951 in the Accounting department at General Motors until God blessed their marriage with loving children. She was a member of Sun Valley Presbyterian Church where she served as Deacon as well as Assistant Treasurer.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children: Dan Lanning, Beloit, WI; Joni (Robert) Butcher, Bloomington, IL; and Julie (Steve) Murray, Brodhead, WI; four adoring grandchildren: Delano (Sandy) Lanning, Marie (Dustin) Wegele, Aaron and Jake Lanning; two dear great-grandchildren: Khalil Lanning and Holden Wegele; sister-in-law Carol Bamert; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend and grand puppy, Napa.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Aunt Hilda, brother Joseph Bamert, niece Dianna Bamert, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Nel Mae and Eugene, and Shirley and George.
Lil was loved by all who met her and will be deeply missed. Her accepting and loving spirit lives on in those who knew her.
