Fay Allen Holcomb, age 88, of Clinton died Saturday November 25, 2017 in his home. He was born January 17, 1929 to the late Ellery and Elsie (Reimer) Holcomb in Harrison Township, IL. Fay graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1947. He enlisted into the U.S. Army on February 15, 1953 and served his country until his honorable discharge on November 29, 1956. He married Marlene Anne Foote on October 27, 1956 in Shopiere. Fay was a member of the River of Life United Methodist Church in Clinton. He served on the Clinton Town Board for many years. Fay enjoyed life as a dairy farmer from 1957 until his retirement in 1987. He continued to work for the Clinton School District as a school bus driver and in the maintenance dept. Fay collected antique farm tractors and enjoyed going to tractor shows. He was also a longtime and faithful Packer Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Holcomb; his six sons, Rick Holcomb, Tim (Linda) Holcomb, Bruce (Bernie) Holcomb, Greg (Sheri) Holcomb, Brad (Jodi Bristol) Holcomb and Bob Holcomb; his grandchildren, Samantha (Jon) Engelhardt, Abigail (Daniel) Clevenger, Shanna McCutchan, Tyler (Jessica Sund) Holcomb, Ashley (Kenneth Mejeur) Holcomb, Heather (Brandon Foss) Holcomb, Dalton Holcomb and Megan Holcomb; his four great grandchildren, Madisyn & Wyatt Engelhardt and Bowen & Hattie Clevenger and his brother in law, Bob Cook.
The family would like to thank Jeff Ducharme, Clinton EMS, the Clinton Police Dept. and the Beloit Paramedics for their care and compassion.
Fay was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Vernon Holcomb and John Holcomb, his four sisters, Phyllis (Rex) Johnson, Marcia Cook, Laona (Nick) Nielson and Donna Holcomb and his niece, Cindy Holcomb.
Fay's Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the RIVER OF LIFE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 402 Church Street, Clinton with Rev. David Carlson officiating. Friends will be received on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment and Full Military Burial Rites will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
