ROCKTON — The new OSF Medical Group-Rockton/Roscoe office is now open.

The Rockton/Roscoe office is located inside a commercial complex at 4686 E. Rockton Road, Suite 102. The one-story clinic includes approximately 5,000 square feet of interior space, with nine exam rooms and one treatment room, and is designed to accommodate up to three physicians. Services available at this location include primary care, lab testing and digital imaging.

The clinic is open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Dr. Katerina Hughes and Dr. Syed Hassan, both board certified primary care physicians specializing in family medicine, are the providers at the new clinic. They are accepting new patients and appointments can be made by calling 815-624-1300. The clinic also will have nursing and clerical staff.

Dr. Jeffry Tillery, vice president, OSF Medical Group Northern Region, applauded the completion of the new clinic.

“We extend our geographic reach to new populations with the same commitment to service, quality and safety offered in our Rockford practices,” Tillery said. “We look forward to our partnership with Rockton and Roscoe and to improving the health of these and surrounding communities.”

OSF Medical Group announced plans for the Rockton/Roscoe office last December. The facility is located across the street from the Walmart SuperCenter in Rockton.

OSF Medical Group is part of OSF Healthcare, which is based in Peoria, Ill. The health care group operates health care facilities in the Bloomington, Galesburg, Pontiac and Peoria regions of Illinois, as well as the Rockford region.

When OSF Medical Group announced plans for the Rockton/Roscoe office, it also announced plans for a 7,000-square-foot clinic in Byron, Ill. That clinic now is open and is in the building which formerly was the Byron Public Library at 109 N. Franklin St., Byron.

Rockton Village President Dale Adams said the opening of the new clinic is good news.

“I wish them all the success they deserve,” Adams said. “ I plan to stop out there and say hello and ask if there is anything they need from the village.”

Adams said he has not heard of what other businesses or agencies will occupy the remaining space in the building.

The OSF Medical Group office is one of two clinics that have been under construction on Rockton Road in Rockton. SwedishAmerican Health System has been building a 25,000-square-foot facility just down the street. That clinic is expected to open by mid-2014.
