ROCKTON — A Rockton man was arrested Friday after police found a marijuana growing operation in the basement of his apartment.
Joshua Drew, 30, after the small cannabis growing operation was discovered in the basement of his apartment on North Blackhawk Boulevard in Rockton Friday morning.
Rockton police officers along with the Illinois State Police Canine and Investigators from the State Line Area Narcotics Taskforce (SLANT) gained entry to a rental house and found 16 plants in various stages of growth.
“It was small but efficient” said Rockton Chief Stephen Dickson. “The SLANT investigators had not seen anything like this, so the technology of growing cannabis has taken a leap.”
Oxycodone pills and hallucinogenic mushrooms also were recovered in the search.
Drew was charged with possession with intent to deliver more than 5,000 grams of cannabis, possession of more than 5 but less than 20 cannabis sativa plants, possession of oxycodone, possession of psilocybin mushrooms and possession of drug paraphernalia.
