SOUTH BELOIT - An information meeting regarding the South Beloit Public Library referendum that will appear on the March 20 primary election ballot will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Nature at the Confluence, 306 Dickop St.

The library is asking for voter approval to issue $4.9 million in general obligation bonds to help fund the construction of a new library near the corner of Blackhawk Boulevard and Charles Street. The project is proposed to be near Nature at the Confluence and bike and pedestrian paths between the two structures are planned. The proposal also has been made to the city to go in with the library to build a combination library and city hall. A combined library and city hall would have a combined cost of about $10 million.
