Janesville man faces robbery charge

JANESVILLE - A Janesville man was arrested Thursday after he reportedly assaulted a man and took his wallet in the parking lot of a business.

Devonti M. Wilson, 33, faces a charge of robbery, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.

The victim said he was walking to his car with his wife in the parking lot of a business in the 2800 block of East Milwaukee Street at about 1:50 p.m. when Wilson allegedly demanded money. When the victim refused, Wilson reportedly assaulted him and took his wallet. Wilson fled in a vehicle and the victim followed, and also called police. Wilson fled on foot and was tracked down with the assistance of the K-9 unit. Wilson was not armed when he was arrested.
