Gene Wright to serve as interim chief in Clinton

CLINTON - Town of Beloit Fire Chief Gene Wright will serve as interim chief for six months for the Clinton Fire Protection District. It is effective as of today.

In a unanimous vote, the three municipalities responsible for the Clinton Fire Protection District voted to appoint him during a Tuesday evening meeting of the Village of Clinton Board, Town of Clinton Board, Town of Bradford Board and The Board of Trustees of the Clinton Fire Protection District.

After a long career with the department, former Fire Chief John Rindfleisch left around the end of June. Clinton Fire Protection District consists of about 30 paid on-call firefighters, according to Village Administrator David Hooker.
