Parks department sells firewood permits

JANESVILLE - The Rock County Parks Department again is selling firewood permits at a cost of $25.

When the Rock County Park system has dead or hazardous trees that must be removed, citizens with a Firewood Permit are able to collect this wood for personal use.

All permit holders have an equal chance to gather felled trees at designated County Parks at very accessible locations throughout the calendar year.

In 2017 an estimated 15 full cords of oak, hickory, ash, and cherry were made available through this program. For more information call 608-757-5473.
