BELOIT - An armed robbery Dec. 3 at the Mobil Mart at 2883 Milwaukee Road has led to the arrest of a Rockford man, according to Beloit police.

Nicholas Haiman, 32, was arrested after being identified by witnesses near the scene. The robbery at the gas station left the clerk with minor injuries. Haiman was identified after witnesses said they saw a suspect running towards a hotel in the 2700 block of Milwaukee Road.

Officers arrived at the hotel and located the suspect and undisclosed amount of money taken in the alleged robbery.

"We want to thank the witnesses on this case who provided outstanding information to our officers which helped bring a successful resolution to this case," a BPD Facebook post said following the incident.

Haiman is being held at the Rock County Jail for armed robbery, according to the department. Police said they would not release the name of the hotel Haiman ran into following the robbery, command staff confirmed Monday.
