BELOIT - In August, Welty Environmental Center received a $2,000 Community Impact Grant from Stateline Community Foundation to support two overnight visits for participants in Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) run by Community Action, for students attending the School District of Beloit's summer school.

On two different weekends, participants came to Big Hill Park for nature-based activities, team-building exercises and the opportunity to camp out at Big Hill Center. Welty staff presented the environmental education, the city provided the space and PREP staff chaperoned the students for the night.
