DARIEN - Due to growing enrollment, Special Methods in Learning Equine Skills, Inc. (SMILES) is searching for volunteers in the roles of horse handler, side walker and unmounted activities mentor. Located in Darien, Wisconsin, SMILES provides equine assisted activities and therapies to people of all ages who have special needs. No experience is necessary and training will be offered.

During the month of September, multiple training dates and times will be provided to specifically target the current volunteer shortage and provide services to all of the clients who hope to participate in the fall session beginning Oct. 1.

Those who might consider volunteering are also encouraged to attend the SMILES Superstar Open House and Student Horse Show on Saturday, Sept. 22, to learn more about the impact volunteering as little as one hour per week can have on a child or adult living with special needs.

Lives and living skills are improved through the classes and programs of SMILES. For more information, please visit www.smilestherapeuticriding.org. or call 262-882-3470.
