Nature at the Confluence class explores ant queens

SOUTH BELOIT - Join Welty from 3:30-5 p.m. on Sept. 11 at Nature at the Confluence, 306 Dickop St., South Beloit, to learn more about the family formicidae, otherwise known as ants.

In late summer, ant queens develop wings to fly off and start new colonies. Visitors will go on a hike to look for queens and pick one colony to unearth and inspect. All ages are welcome. A donation of $5 is suggested. Pre-register online at weltycenter.org/event/natc-ant-queen-9-11-18 or call 608-362-6212.
