ROCKFORD - The Rockford Art Museum (RAM), 711 N. Main St., announced a major donation to their collection by Lon and Richard Behr and has launched a contest inviting the public to help name the sculpture, which is of a horse.
Montana-based artist Deborah Butterfield made the piece with scrap material from Joseph Behr and Sons in Rockford. The artist will make the final selection for the name.
Open to all ages, the contest runs through Jan. 2, 2018. Participants may submit more than one entry. Entries must be submitted in person at the museum. The winning name of the sculpture will be announced on Jan. 8, 2018, and the person who submitted the winning entry will receive a free membership to RAM.
