With Sheriff Bob Spoden's recent decision to retire, Rock County will need a strong leader in the sheriff's office.
I urge Jude Maurer to step up and be Rock County's "Top Cop." With over 20 years in the Rock County Sheriff's Office, Maurer has a lot to offer with his leadership capabilities. Maurer is a blue blood, through and through.
First and foremost, Maurer is a family man who's been a part of the Rock County community since 1995. He even has a son serving in the United State Marine Corps.
The sheriff's office has an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with other law enforcement agencies across the county. With Maurer's background and humility, I am confident he can achieve this.
Maurer graduated from the prestitious Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, and completed the U.S. Army basic training and U.S. Army Military Police School. Maurer then went on to serve in the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 32nd Military Police Company.
In addition to all of Maurer's police experience, he served as president and grievance officer for the Rock County Deputy Sheriff's Supervisor's Association and chairman of the Rock County Traffic Safety Committee.
I urge Capt. Jude Maurer to step up and take on that challenge. Our county needs his leadership.
