Print Article

Please vote for Judge Michael Screnock for the Wisconsin Supreme Court on February 20. He has an amazing resume of serving the public. He ran the City of Reedsburg's community development program where he assisted low income and first-time homeowners make necessary home repairs.

After nearly twelve years serving in local government, Screnock returned to UW-Madison, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2006. As an attorney, Screnock worked on many complex cases, including defending Act 10. He worked on numerous cases before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and Wisconsin Supreme Court. Screnock also co-authored annual legal updates on Administrative Law topics for a Wisconsin State Bar publication.

Since 2015, Screnock has served on the Sauk County Circuit Court, seeing thousands of cases to their end. Screnock handles every type of case, including juvenile, probate, small claims, harassment injunctions, divorce and family matters, civil disputes, civil commitments, and every manner of criminal case from disorderly conduct to first-degree intentional homicide. He also has presided over the Sauk County Adult Drug Court since its inception in January 2016.

Screnock believes in the rule of law. The role of a judge is to interpret and apply the law, not rewrite a law they don't like.

That is why Screnock is already endorsed by 5 active or retired Supreme Court Justices, 39 judges, and 44 sheriffs. Screnock's experience as a judge, local government official and an attorney uniquely prepares him for service on our state's highest court.
