Blood drives set
Two blood drives will be held in the Greater Beloit Area this week.
Today a blood drive will be held from 3 - 6:30 p.m. at Papa John's Pizza, 326 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit.
The second blood drive will be held from noon - 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Beloit Rotary River Center, 1220 Riverside Drive Beloit.
The blood drives are being held for the Rock River Valley Blood Center, which provides blood for Beloit Memorial Hospital, Rockford Memorial Hospital, SwedishAmerican Hospital and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, among other health providers.
Varicose veins discussed
ROSCOE - A seminar titled “The News is All Good ... No Surgery, Now Downtime, Varicose Veins,” will be presented from 7 - 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus, 5605 E. Rockton Road, Roscoe.
Dr. Pierre Charles, general, thoracic and vascular surgeon, will present the seminar. He will discuss a new procedure that can help people who suffer with the pain or the embarrassment of unsightly varicose veins. New benefits of the procedure include no lengthy recovery from surgery and a painless treatment.
