Sarah Spradlin has been named branch manager of the new Gateway Community Bank branch office in Beloit.
Spradlin most recently worked at a Beloit branch of another financial institution. She brings a broad financial service background to her new position, said Gateway Community Bank President and CEO Allen Brewer. She currently is undergoing training in the Roscoe office of Gateway Community Bank.
The Beloit branch of Gateway Community Bank is scheduled to open in the spring of 2009.
Deborah Griffith has been promoted to the position of vice president at First National Bank and Trust Company.
She joined First National Bank and Trust Company in Beloit in 2003 as assistant vice president - retail sales/service director.
Griffith attended Bradley University with a double major in business management and administration and public relations. She completed graduate studies at Northern Illinois University, graduating with a Masters in Business Administration degree.
Prior to joining First National Bank and Trust Company, she worked in retail management for two other financial institutions in the northern Illinois market.
William Flanagan, vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Beloit College, recently was recognized for his service to the college and the student affairs profession by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
Flanagan recently attended the NASPA IV-East Regional Conference, where he received the Outstanding Performance as a Senior Student Affairs Officer Award. The award is given to a student affairs professional who excels in administrative and leadership capacities and who contributes significantly to the field of student affairs through outreach activities and publishing.
