Candidates will debate on Tuesday

Wisconsin's 2nd Congressional District candidates - incumbent Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Madison, and challenger Peter Theron, R-Madison - will meet in debate at Beloit College on Tuesday night.
The debate is jointly sponsored by the Beloit Daily News, Beloit College and the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce. Editor William Barth will moderate the event.
Baldwin and Theron will debate at 8 p.m. in the Matilda R. Wilson Theater of the Oscar Mayer Hall on campus. The event is free, and individuals wishing to attend may begin seating about 7:30 p.m.
The two candidates will be questioned by a panel, which is still being assembled. The names of panelists will be announced soon.
At the debate, audience members will be able to write down suggested questions which will be collected by ushers. A selection of audience questions will be posed to the candidates, in addition to questions from panelists.
Theron holds a doctorate in mathematics and has taught college courses on several campuses, including Beloit College.
Baldwin was first elected to Congress in 1998, and was re-elected to her fifth term in the House of Representatives in 2006.
