Attempted arson, burglary probed

Those at Happy Wok, 1802 Harrison St., are reeling in fear after finding gasoline and oil around one of the owners' home in the 1800 block of Park Avenue just a week after a burglary at the restaurant.
"I definitely think we are being targeted," said Kevin Olson, co-owner.
Olson owns the restaurant with business partners Cindy Lee and John Poon.
When owner John Poon arrived home at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday after work, he spotted a Hispanic male running off his property, according to Olson.
Olson said the man may have been a disgruntled employee, but he doesn't know for sure. If Poon didn't catch the man, Olson said he would have lit the house on fire.
The business partners are still trying to figure out who burglarized their business two weeks ago.
"They just broke through the window, came in, stole some money and turned on the gas," Olson said. "They tried to blow the building up."
Olson said the Beloit Police are working on the case and trying to see if it was tied to what happened a week ago. For now those at the business are on alert.
"We are just keeping an eye open," Olson said. "There are a lot of crazy people are out there."
