By BDN staff
The Beloit Area Wrestling Club will start up next Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beloit Memorial High School and wrestlers may well have the opportunity to rub shoulders with a national champion.
Beloit Memorial sophomore wrestler Alex Polizzi competed in the FILA Cadet Nationals in Akron, Ohio, over the past weekend and took first place for Greco Roman and second for Freestyle.
Polizzi's placing earned him a spot on the U.S. National and International teams this year. He will not only be invited to travel around the United States, but also is eligible for worldwide competition. He will train at the Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs this summer.
The Beloit Area Wrestling Club is open to any sixth through 12th grader. It will run every Tuesday and Thursday night from now until the end of July.
