JANESVILLE - Getting ready for Halloween? For a real spook-tacular time the Southern Wisconsin Paranormal Research Group (SWPRG) will be hosting its 6th Annual Paranormal Conference on 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Best Western Conference Center, 2900 Milton Ave.

Titled “Proof Through Technology: The New Exciting Science of The Paranormal,” the conference will feature a total of seven speakers including Pulitzer Prize winning author Deborah Blum, new therapy inventor Dr. Allan Botkin, producer and director Marc Stevens, researcher Timothy Harte and SWPRG members Jennifer Lauer, Dave Schumacher and Cindy Heinen.

Blum will be speaking on her new book, “William James and the Search for Scientific Proof of Life After Death.” Botkin will be speaking on his work with Induced After-Death Communication. Stevens will be speaking on the new paranormal movie, “Ghosts of Door County.” Harte will be speaking on his research with the Multi Energy Sensor Array System, and SWPRG members will be speaking on their research, investigations and more.

Lauer, founder and executive director of SWPRG, said the event usually draws 100 to 200 people.

“We usually have a great turnout,” she said. “Every year we seem to get more.”

Lauer and Schumacher have written a book together titled “Investigating the Haunted: Ghost Hunting Taken to the Next Level” that will be available at the conference along with a new movie to go with the book.

The event also will feature lots of raffle items including a chance to win a laptop computer or a trip on a real paranormal investigation with members of the SWPRG.

Tickets to the event are $25 in advance and can be purchased online at www.SWPRG.com, or by sending a request for tickets to The S.W.P.R.G., 3406 Park View Drive, Janesville, Wis. 53546. Tickets will also be available at the door for $40.

The SWPRG was founded in 1999 by Paranormal Investigator Jennifer Lauer. The group researches, investigates and documents paranormal activity throughout the Midwest and seeks to bring credibility to the field of paranormal research. For details, call (608)931-3633 or go to www.SWPRG.com.
