Paperchine creates new winder division
ROCKTON - Close on the heels of its purchase of the assets of Wespatt Inc., Paperchine Inc. has created a new winder division located in Chicopee, Mass., to service the needs of papermaking customers worldwide.
The new division, established July 16, is overseen by Paperchine Vice President of Engineering, Jim Ewald, and currently is staffed with seven engineers with extensive winder and finishing experience on paper machines throughout the world.
With the acquisition of Wespatt's assets a few weeks ago, it's anticipated that Paperchine's employment nationwide will increase to over 120. Paperchine opened in March, 2000, after Harnischfeger, the parent company of Beloit Corporation, declared bankruptcy. The company performs rebuilds and service of paper machines worldwide.
