‘Borrow, spend to help wealthy'

Published: Wednesday, November 23, 2005 10:15 AM CST
Russ Feingold and John McCain saw it coming and tried to do something about it. Republican politicians led by Mitch McConnell in their greed wouldn't clean up their act. With their wealthy contributors pouring money into their campaign coffers, we the people are paying in legislation and favors.

They took the side of drug companies and we the people are paying. They are partners in oil and we the people are paying. They want to give their oil company partners permission to drill in Alaska. Are the inflated prices an attempt to get support? We the people are and will be paying.

When the president landed on that aircraft carrier it sounded like the mission in Iraq was over. Immediately they had Halliburton in there. Knowing of the administration's connection with them, that was their mission. What we the people are paying should be investigated.

The administration has a record of political pay backs for we the people to pay. The one that's costing billions, lives and destruction they are trying to cover up with lies and excuses. It's the Halliburton pay backs, the one that exploded.

With outrageous tax cuts, borrowing and spending, the Reagan and Bush administrations have increased the deficit by trillions. They had the majority all but two of those years and the veto power that goes with it. The deficit is exploding and we have three more years of this administration. They called helping the poor tax and spend. We now have to borrow and spend to help the wealthy.
