On a per-share basis, the San Diego-based company said it had net income of 15 cents.
The maker of food flavorings posted revenue of $14.9 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $1.3 million, or 3 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $29.3 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $1.28. A year ago, they were trading at $1.07.
