Someone is missing the boat. You have police all around the city of Beloit police department. What is wrong with the Elmwood Street?
The sign says 25 mph but if you go there it is like a race track. At least 60 mph or more.
I was there this past week to visit a friend and it really scared me a whole lot. Then a car passed up another on the same road. What's up with that? A one-way street and passing a car with a speed limit of 25 mph. That looks like a side street, not a race track.
Yes, I'm an older citizen and I've been driving over 40 years now. I had five accidents, none of my own, and no tickets whatsoever.
I wish I could have a radar gun. I could make some money for Beloit. That road is very bad to be on. Why is everybody in a hurry to get nowhere? How about it, chief, do you have a radar gun I can have and use? I bet, one day on Elmwood Street, I could put new tires on two of your police cars.
Driving, for me, is very nice to have, but I'll have to give it up pretty soon. My truck is 25 years old and she and I can't take this insane speed anymore. She's suffering from engine knock and now, with Elmwood Street speeds, I'm afraid to go to Beloit.
So, chief, can you help me out? I moved here 20 years ago from Chicago to get away from the fast lane, and now I have this. I love Beloit but if I have to write to the governor, I will. The sign says 25 mph, not 60 mph.
