TOWN OF BELOIT - An abandoned van was recovered after going off-road near the intersection of Townline Road and County Road D late Saturday, officials said.

A 2005 Chrysler van was found by Town of Beloit fire officials in a drainage area, with no driver at the scene.

The van went off the road, took out a telecommunications box, a telephone pole and ran through a corn field before getting stuck in the drainage ditch, according to Town Fire Chief Gene Wright.

The Town of Beloit Police Department is investigating the incident.
