Beloit man charged for armed robbery

BELOIT - A man wanted for allegedly robbing the Cornellier Fireworks Stand in the parking lot of Wahl's Appliance on Prairie Avenue on July 4 has been arrested, according to police.

Dennis McKnight, 52, was arrested earlier this week and charged with armed robbery, obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly robbing the fireworks stand at gunpoint.

McKnight fired one shot into the air as he ran away from the scene of the alleged robbery, the complaint said.
