Jorgenson named county DPW director

JANESVILLE - Interim Rock County Public Works Director Duane Jorgenson has been named permanent director of the county department.

County Administrator Josh Smith announced Jorgenson's appointment Tuesday. The Rock County Board of Supervisors will take up Jorgenson's official appointment at its meeting on May 25.

Jorgenson earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. He was hired as a project engineer for R.H. Batterman in 2003 and he was hired as a construction engineer for the City of Janesville in 2008. He was named assistant to the Rock County Public Works Director in 2014.
