'Hononegah High says thank you'

Print Article

On April 4, Hononegah Community High School District #207 voters approved the fieldhouse referendum. We are thankful our community said "yes" to this endeavor and do not take their decision lightly.

We understand it was a tough decision to make, but one that will reap amazing rewards as we continue to provide a top-notch education to the students who pass through these halls. So many of our community members are tied to Hononegah, whether their children or grandchildren are students here currently, or they are alumni themselves and understand the importance of making sure our students receive the best and most well-rounded educational opportunities available.

Now the work begins. The board is working diligently to approve the overall design of the fieldhouse, while input is being sought for the project design phases. Once that is complete, construction bids will begin and be awarded for each component of the project. We are expecting construction to begin in the summer with an anticipated completion and opening date in the Fall of 2019.

Again, the district is truly grateful for your support and pleased that we can move forward. Providing a first-class learning and teaching environment for our students and staff is our top priority and we could not do that without the continued support of the Hononegah community.
