Klobucar leads BMHS golf

MADISON, Wis. — Sam Klobucar fired a 77 to finish in fourth place at the at a Big Eight Triangular meet, held Wednesday at Odana Hills Golf Course.

Kolbucar shot a 40 on the front nine before coming back with a 37 on the back to record a top five finish. The Knights total of 361 strokes fell third behind Madison Wests 345 and Sun Prairies 309.

Noah Davis shot a 92, Riley Jensen 94 and Kris Johnson 98 for Beloit.

Carter Simon topped three Sun Prairie golfers in the 70s with a 74.

• HONONEGAH 7, ROCKFORD AUBURN 6: The Indians pushed across two runs in the fourth inning to erase a 6-5 deficit and pull out the NIC-10 victory in Rockford. Auburn was held scoreless the final four innings.

Mitchell Massimo was 2-for-4 with a home run to lead the Indians 11-hit attack. Derek Larson and Ryan Althoff were each 2-for-4.

Freshman pitcher Page Mather picked up the victory.

• WHITEWATER 10, BIG FOOT 0: The Whippets’ Jason Curtis pitched a 1-hit complete game with 11 strikeouts in a game played Tuesday.

Colton Berg had the lone hit for the Chiefs, who trailed only 2-0 after four innings, but allowed a four-run fifth.

• PREP SOFTBALL — HARVARD 9, SOUTH BELOIT 8: The host Hornets hit a walkoff two-run home run with two outs in the seventh.

Kylie McCarty was 3-for-4 with a run scored for the SoBos. She had plenty of company. Kylie Beeler was 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a walk. Shian Galbreath was 1-for-4 with a triple, two runs, an RBI and a walk. Bre Hoppe went 1-for-3 with a double, two runs, two walks and two stolen bases and Emily Torres was 2-for-3 with a stolen base.

The SoBos also got three steals from Jenna Lynde. and Karyssa Myhres drove in two runs.

Emma Lindsey (1-6) pitched 6 2-3 innings, allowing 10 hits and nine unearned runs. She had six strikeouts.
