In appreciation of our local volunteers and all they do, Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care would like to express sincere and heartfelt thanks to them as we celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 23 to 29. We value their time, compassion and dedication!

In 2016, volunteers donated more than 80,000 hours in support of Agraces mission to provide compassionate care through the stages of serious illness. Volunteers enrich the lives of our patients and families in many ways, including by providing patient companionship, bedside vigils, caregiver respite and transportation. Others assist our staff with office work, welcome visitors to our centers of care, help in our kitchens and gardens, or work at our thrift stores and at special events. Agrace simply could not do what we do without the support of our volunteers.

Agrace volunteers make a difference in the lives of patients, families and staff every day by sharing their unique skills and interests. Therapy dogs brighten patients days, and hair stylists give patients comfort and a sense of dignity. Vigil volunteers are a quiet presence in late-night hours, ensuring that no patient dies without someone by their side. Respite volunteers see that patients family caregivers get much-needed support. We honor the diversity of skills and experiences that our volunteers share with Agrace and the communities we serve.
