Beloit police respond to armed robbery case

BELOIT — Beloit police officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar at 840 Fourth St. for a report of an armed robbery at 8:48 p.m. Saturday, according to Beloit Police Facebook page.

Two black males entered the store and forced an employee to open the register at gunpoint. During the robbery one of the suspects fired one round from a black, semi-automatic handgun into the floor next to the clerk. An unknown amount of money was taken and the suspects fled on foot toward the Fifth Street area.
