O’FALLON, Ill. — The Hononegah boys bowling team picked up a huge victory Friday, winning the 2016 Panther Team Challenge.

The Indians program entered five different teams, with Hononegah Purple placing first and Hononegah Gold placing seventh.

The Hononegah Purple team, composed of juniors Parker Hearne and Nick Sommer, sophomore Jacob Sommer and seniors Tanner Schewe and Brandon Mooney, finished ahead of second-place Harlem and third-place O’Fallon.

“This was a big-time performance by these five bowlers,” Hononegah coach Brad Sommer said. “These guys had to stay focused and keep producing all day on challenging lane conditions, knowing we had no subs available for them. The upperclassmen are very seasoned and they always seemed to handle big moments well.”
