Aleya Cheyenne Wofford, 17, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in her home.
She was born April 26, 1996 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Timothy E. Wofford and Terese M. Tann. Aleya attended Rock County Christian School where she enjoyed her teachers and friends, especially chapel. Aleya played soccer and was very athletic.
Aleya was employed by Perkins Restaurant and the Boston Store. She was very outgoing, loved life, singing, had a big heart and her smile would always brighten up your day. Aleya loved to volunteer and worked behind the scenes in theatre productions. She was loved by all and was always there for her friends, protecting the underdog.
Aleya was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include her father, Tim Wofford of Alabama; her mother, Terese Tann of Beloit, WI, sisters and brother, Alexia Tann of Beloit, WI, Ashya Wofford of Alabama, Destiny Wash and Derrick “DJ” Wash Jr. both of Beloit, WI; grandparents, Alta (Darlene) Tann of Beloit, WI, Orlando (Carmen) Jimenez of Florida, and Paul (Lillian) Morrow of Beloit, WI; nephews, Dez’Myon Wofford-Green of Alabama and Kavonni Little of Beloit, WI; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Elkin and Dorothy Wofford.
A prayer vigil will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1151 E. Grand Avenue, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Michael Ramsdail officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
A memorial will be established at a later date.
