Michael Ryan Cormany, 63, of South Beloit, IL, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital.
He was born July 15, 1947, the son of Paul Cormany and Shirley Sonnentag. Mike was a 1965 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School and worked at Hanson Pressure Pipe (Cretex) for over 40 years until his death.
For many years, he took great enjoyment in hunting with his friends. Since his youth, Mike was an avid bowler. During his bowling career he owned numerous 700 series, won various tournaments, including the Beloit Daily News tournament, and many 300 games. Mike went into the history books when he rolled three 300 games within five months. He was very proud when he was inducted into the Greater Beloit Bowling Hall of Fame in October 2001.
Mike was a passionate Packer fan and never missed a game. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. His weekend routine was to visit Viking and R&R bowling lanes to check in with his buddies and see how his latest NASCAR driver was doing. Mike took great enjoyment out of and always looked forward to his fishing trips with his friends, especially his best buddy, Bobby Chips.
He will truly be missed by everyone.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Sonnentag of Beloit, WI; three sisters, Paula (Joseph) Perkins, Sue (Stuart) Simpson both of Beloit, WI and Marty Cormany of South Beloit, IL; brother, Tim Cormany; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Brian) Perkins Walker, Aaron Perkins, Jody Simpson, Stuart Paul Simpson, Devin Simpson, and Katlyn Simpson; great nieces and nephews, Teagan Walker, Liam Perkins, Abby Simpson, and Evan Simpson.
He was predeceased by his father, Paul Cormany.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Graveside services for his family will be Friday in Mt. Thabor Cemetery, Beloit, WI.
