David D. Rimstidt age 53, died Thursday, September 8, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Born July 31, 1958 to Herbert Rimstidt and Mary Ellen (Dilley) Kleinsmith of South Beloit, IL. He married Cheri Wagner on March 28, 2011 in Janesville. Dave was an avid NASCAR fan, snowmobiler and go cart racer at Sugar River Race Way. He worked for Clinton Electronics in Rockford for 25 years and most recently for Axium Foods in South Beloit for seven years. He was a wonderful husband, dad, brother, son and will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Cheri Rimstidt: his son Matthew (Jennifer Thornton) Rimstidt of Beloit; his mother, Mary Ellen Kleinsmith of South Beloit; his father Herbert Rimstidt of South Beloit; his two sisters Judi Rimstidt (Michael Driggers) of Georgia & Renee (Thomas Wendler) Robinson of Greenfield, WI; his brother, Thomas (Denise Walters) Rimstidt of South Beloit; two step sons, Christopher (Megan) Thurston & Brian Thurston; his two racing dudes, Ed Sauer & Gary Olson and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins
Dave’s family would like to thank the staff at the Michael Berry Cancer Center, Mercy Medical Center and the Oncology Department as well as all his friends and neighbors who called or stopped by to visit.
Dave’s Memorial Visitation will be Sunday September 11, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit. No formal funeral services will be held per Dave’s request. A memorial is being established in his name.
