MIS crowns six champs

The Madison International Speedway (MIS) held its awards banquet recently, crowning six champions at The Heights in Verona, Wis. 

Track champions for 2014 included Dave Feiler (Super Late Models), Blake Brown (Super Trucks), Dale Nottestad (Late Models), Kody Hubred (Sportsman), Cory Talaka (Legends) and Dan Snyder (Bandits). Chris Wimmer was honored as the 2014 Super Lake Model Triple Crown Challenge champion.

Feiler, of Sun Prairie, took home his fourth Super Late Model track championship at MIS, tying the late Joe Shear for the most championships in the division. This season he picked up two feature wins, two heat wins and two fast times along with six top-five finishes and a total of 881 points. He has 21 career wins at MIS, ranking him sixth all-time.

Runnerup Jeremy Miller of Rockton finished the season with 798 points powered by two feature wins. He set fast time twice. Bobby Wilberg of Beloit finished third with 766 points and one feature win.

• MIDWEST RACERS’ EXPO: Delavan, Wis., will host the annual event Jan. 2-3, which features a two-day auction, numerous trade show participants as well as traditional series and track meetings. It will be held at the former Stock Building Supply location at 1849 Hobbs Drive, located just off I-43 at Exit 21.

Consignments will be accepted on Dec. 31 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on New Year’s Day from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Expo doors open to the Trade Show at 3 p.m. Jan. 2 with the auction getting underway at 4 p.m. Jan. 3, the doors open at 8 a.m. with the auction going live at 9 a.m. Series and track meetings begin at 10 a.m. with race cars, trailers and haulers up for sale at noon.
