Audubon talk on Yellowstone planned

Green-Rock Audubon Society will host Steve Ballou, from the Beloit College geology department, on April 9 from 7-9 p.m. at Monroe Public Library. The topic is Geology Yellowstone: The “Sleeping” Supervolcano. Learn about the “Yellowstone Hotspot,” its cataclysmic past and what we can expect in the future. 

Ballou is the geology technician and safety associate at Beloit College. He has traveled extensively to support the efforts of geology students doing research throughout the world including, Yellowstone National Park, where he led student excursions and worked as a seasonal naturalist ranger for the last

seven years.
