Marshall Milton Salmon passed away on May 25, 2010 at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock. IL.

Marshall was born on February 26, 1921 in Success, AK, son of Rev. James and Pearl (Belk) Salmon. When he was a young child the family moved to Aledo, II, where he grew up. He married Esther York in August 23, 1942 and she preceded him in death in November 1988. Marshall was a hard worker and was a machinist that retired from Beloit Iron Works.

Marshall served in Germany under General Patton from 1942-1945 with the Army during World War II. He was a lifelong member of VFW and a member of Moose Lodge in Harvard, IL. During his retirement he enjoyed traveling, and spending time at the Moose Lodge playing cards and Bingo.

He is survived by Darrell (Phyllis), of South Beloit, IL; Marsha (Albin) Borgeson, of Chippewa Falls, WI; and Marlena (John) Murphy, of Woodstock, IL; sisters, Beulah (Bob) Wright and Velva (Frank) Lupo; brothers, Floyd and Harold (Shirley); 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Esther, twin daughters, Pauline and Paulette, sister, Lillie, brothers, Jasper, Orvell, Cecil, James, and Thomas.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday, May 28, 2010 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL. The Rev. Herbert Priester will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
