James McMillan, age 69 of Beloit, WI, died Thursday January 27, 2011in his home. He was born January 12, 1942 at the home of his Grandparents in Rockbridge Township, WI the son of Keith and Evelyn (Huffman) McMillan. He moved to Beloit in 1946 where he attended Beloit Schools and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1960. Jim entered the Army in 1961. Sergeant McMillan was a Vietnam Veteran. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit, National Defense Service Medal, Army Aircrew Flight Wings, and the Marksman Shooting Badge in both pistol and rifle.

Jim married his best friend and life long companion, Janet Storck, on June 24, 1978. He was previously married to Trudy Siebel in 1966. Jim owned and operated Park Avenue Barbershop. He worked for the School District of Beloit for 23 years retiring in 1996 as Maintenance Supervisor. Jim was a life member of the VFW Post 1621 in Janesville and Wisconsin Vietnam Vets Chapter 3 of Monticello, Life Member Military Order of Purple Heart; he was also a member of VVA Chapter 236 of Janesville and the Beloit American Legion. He also belonged to the Vietnam Helicopter Crew Members Association and the 145th Combat Aviation Association. Jim was a past member of Apparitions MC in Monticello and DC Eagles MC of Beloit. He was also a member of the Coachmen Car Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his fellow brothers, and driving his 1939 Chevy. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Janet, his mother, Evelyn, his daughter, Tricia and her children, Cole & Blake; his son, Joseph, and his children, Emily & Jakob, a brother, Ted (Georgia) McMillan, Cape Coral, FL, two brothers-in-law, Keith (Nan) Storck, Queen Creek, AZ and Steve Storck, CA, his mother-in-law, Greta Storck, Kenosha WI and his sister in law, Cheryl McMillan, Milwaukee, WI.

He was predeceased by his father, Keith, infant son, James, a brother, David, his ex-wife, Trudy Siebel McMillan, Grandpa & Grandma McMillan, Grandpa and Grandma Huffman, father-in-law, Bill Storck, sister-in-law Susan Storck Hollingsworth, and two sisters-in-law Judy Storck & Louise McMillan.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday February 5, 2011 in the BRIAN MARK Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI with the Rev. Gene Van Galder officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Burial Rites will be accorded in our Military Memorial Garden on the west side of the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Floral Lawns Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Beloit Regional Hospice or the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses as well as Jon and Jill from Beloit Regional Hospice for the care and compassion they gave Jim.
