Nathan Joe Owens Jr., 53, formerly of Beloit, died November 12, 2012, in Denver, Colorado. Cause of death: Complications of pneumonia and the elements after a prolonged stay in the hospital.

Date of birth: March 17, 1959. Place of birth: Louisiana. Graduated from Beloit Memorial High School. Worked at Bean Shoe Repair in South Beloit, IL. He had a passion for working with shoes. He was a destined wanderer whose heart belonged to Denver, CO. He was a voracious reader, worker of puzzles, and an overall truth seeker. He consumed library books by the stack. He never turned down a good laugh. He made a point to travel all over the US and he made friends easily wherever he went with his infectious smile and genuine nature.

Survived by: Father: Nathan Owens Sr. (Beloit, WI). Siblings: Corinne Preston (Escondido, CA), Jamie Owens (Selmer, TN), & Faith Grim (Beloit, WI). 2 Nephews: Ryan McQueen (Chillicothe, OH), Michael McQueen (Beloit, WI). 3 Nieces: Alicia Grim (Madison, WI), Kim Owens (Selmer, TN), Heather Owens (Selmer, TN). Friends: All those his presence touched.

Predeceased by (and date of death): Mother: Peggy Owens – February 1999

There will be no funeral service held. His remains will stay in the city where his heart felt home.
