James Redner, 87, of Clinton, WI passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, August 8, 2013. Jim was born June 14, 1926 to the late Lewis and Irene (Calhoun) Redner in Garden Prairie, IL. He graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1944. After graduation, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country until his honorable discharge. Jim married Donna Mae Warren on Dec. 9, 1951. He enjoyed a lifetime of farming. He was a talented woodworker who loved sharing his talent with friends, family, and the church. He loved being on the water, boating and fishing, though he never could stay in one spot very long. He was a hard worker, and was able to analyze and solve almost any problem. Jim had many interests, and was always open to new ideas. He was kind to others, and would put himself in their shoes. His sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He had determination, and was always able to bounce back from adversity throughout his life.

He was a loving husband to Donna for 62 years, and a loving father who encouraged talent and creativity in his children, Laurie (Jim) Thain of Thorpe, WI; Lu Ann (Jerry) Widergren of Roscoe, IL; Mark Redner of Rockton, IL; Lynette (Brian Coon) Coulter of Delavan, WI and Larry (Sandy) Redner of Sussex, WI; treasured grandpa to eight grandchildren, John (Rachael) Thain, Andy Thain, Amber (Todd) Forster, Jon Widergren, Austin Coulter, Krystal and Alex Malinowski and Austin Powell; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert Redner and Harold Redner.

Jim’s Funeral Service will be 11:30 on Tuesday August 13, 2013 in the Blaine United Methodist Church, Blaine, IL with Reverend Tom Hay officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the church. Following the luncheon, there will be Full Military Burial Rites at Highland Gardens of Memories, Belvidere, IL. Please share a memory or a condolence with the Redner Family on our website.
